"India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation wrote to domestic airlines asking for an explanation for recent fare hikes across the industry, prompting several rollbacks and a stern warning from Minister of Civil Aviation Praful Patel. He said authorities are "against any cartelization amongst airlines" and that they "will keep watch and take strict action in any such case." On Tuesday, several airlines scrapped promotional fares and increased their other fare groups nearly simultaneously, often to the same level, according to widespread press reports."
