Air China agrees to purchase 20 more A320s

"Air China has agreed to purchase 20 Airbus A320 aircraft for delivery between 2011 and 2014. The Chinese carrier has disclosed the agreement in a stock exchange statement. It says that the deal was concluded with Airbus today. Air China gives the basic price of the aircraft as $1.6 billion but states that the airframer has granted "significant price concessions". Next

A new-generation engine for China’s C919 jetliner

"At the end of 2009 Chinese aircraft manufacturer Comac selected an engine from Safran to power its new single-aisle commercial jet, the C919. We take a closer look at this major partnership. Safran will supply the complete propulsion system for China's first commercial jetliner, in a contract that could be worth up to $15 billion over a period of 30 years. Airbus signs MOU on aircraft financing solutions with Chinese partner

"Airbus today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CDB Leasing Co., Ltd. (CLC), one of China's leading leasing companies, on cooperation in aircraft financing and leasing. The MoU was signed by John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers, and Wang Chong, President of CLC, in Toulouse, France.

Xian Aircraft wins new Boeing 737 fins contract

" China's Xian Aircraft International has signed a contract with Boeing to provide another 1,500 vertical fins for the Boeing 737 aircraft.Xian, a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), delivered its 1,500th fin to Boeing last week. Rebuff to Delta as JAL sticks with American

EADS Defence & Security delivers second batch of DRAC UAVs to French Ministry of Defence

"On 25 January 2010, EADS Defence & Security delivered 35 specially modified new unmanned air vehicle (UAV) DRAC systems to the French Army to enhance its capabilities in mountainous terrain. This delivery took place at the end of a series of ground-based and in-flight verification operations launched in November 2009 and carried out together with the French defence procurement agency DGA (Direction Générale de l'Armement). The new batch follows a first batch of 25 DRAC systems delivered to the Ministry of Defence in July 2008."
